Stephen Roche

Stephen is a Chartered Physiotherapist who completed his Masters in Physiotherapy in UCC in 2020, where he graduated with a First Class Honours and started working with Galway City Physiotherapy in 2021. Stephen also has a degree in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Limerick from 2018. Here he developed expertise in Strength and Conditioning and injury rehabilitation.

Stephen has experience as a Strength and Conditioning Coach with Connacht GAA and the Galway GAA hurling academies. He went on to build his clinical experience in Orthopaedics, Respiratory care, Care of the Elderly and Rehabilitation and manual therapy. He has a keen interest in managing sporting injuries with exercise and manual therapy as well as long term injury rehabilitation. He also enjoys developing individual care plans to help adults with healthy ageing.

Within the clinic, Stephen has an added role of expanding the exercise rehabilitation service we offer and he runs our strength and conditioning classes. Some of these are targeted to more high level athletes and some are for the general population who attend the clinic with back, neck and joint pain. He also offers 1-to-1 rehabilitation sessions for those who need to improve their general fitness and strength, as well as those recovering from injury.   

Stephen has a strong background in hurling himself having won the Fitzgibbon Cup with both UL and UCC and currently enjoys playing with his own club Kilnadeema-Leitrim in Galway.
